Wentworth Soccer in Top Ten

Soccer’s Stellar Season
by Rose Mendez

Congratulations to the College Soccer team for their achievement of being honored as one of the top ten teams in the USCAA, a first for Wentworth.  Their season could be described as nothing but stellar. The team’s winning record only reiterates how well they work together, as they carry one night’s success onto another.

The entire corps had the chance to watch the homecoming game last Saturday afternoon. The Red Dragons again proved to be victorious, winning 7-1 against Indians Hills.  This of course, was no surprise. These feats would never be possible if not for the outstanding hard work on part of the players and coaches. The players have pushed themselves and earned the respect by going through intense practices. Hard work does pay off.

"The band playing after every goal was a great touch and the boys really enjoyed the fan support.  We really fed off the crowd's energy and it helped propel us," remarked Coach Commins.  The fan support of course is what motivates the players to show their talent and skills.
